Firmware update to address Bifrost 2/64 issues is out! Yep can confirm this worked for me and fixed the issue! Didn’t have an issue but updated anyway. Hopefully it works for everyone. Absolutely love that they were able to address this issue as quickly as they did. I didn't have any issues with the previous firmware, but I updated anyway.

Bifrost2 has amazing macro and micro dynamic character with plenty of texture in the mids. Qutest is more of a high resolution DAC with great separation and imaging. Both are incisive in the lower treble, but the Bifrost 2 is smoother in the upper treble, whereas, the Qutest is going to be overall touch brighter in the entire treble region.

You’ll need RCA-to-RCA or XLR-to-XLR cables to connect the Bifrost to your preamp or amp, as well as a digital cable or cables (coaxial, Toslink, or USB) to connect your source or sources. 2. If you are using USB, use a good, short cable. You need to use a 2M or less, true USB 2.0 rated Headphoneus Supremus. This applies only to 4x oversampling DACs like Modi Multibit and original Bifrost Multibit. At 8x oversampling the bitrate would have to be higher than the supported max of 192 to be NOS. Jason has stated in an earlier post that Bifrost 2 does not support NOS due to the 8x oversampling rate.
